While there are a few unique features to this table which we will cover, this particular design will grace any dining room and create an elegance that can be admired both from afar and up close. The table base is a custom steel with black powder coating that helps give this base its unique shape and form. We wanted to send a nod to the bottles of wine that will be opened and enjoyed here. The shape was custom drawn and pulled its inspiration from the slender and soft curves of a wine bottle.
Feet levelers help stabilize this table and soften the pads on any floor surface.
The table in the photo is made from locally sourced and air dried walnut. This type of wood is not readily available as most commercially sourced materials are kiln dried. Air dried allows the walnut to cure with a more normal and natural process, giving the walnut its rich and uniform character and grain structure. Kiln dried walnut is typically not as uniform and has more purples along with some more chaotic grain patterns.
The breadboard ends with contrasting oak doweling are a nod to how tables used to be made. This type of joinery is executed in a state of the art manner to help achieve an old school function that helps the table to stay flat. It is both pleasing and fulfilling to run your hands and experience the tactileness of the well thought out joinery.
Experience the grace, the strength, and the dignity, of the Asher table as you enjoy many conversations and meals with friends.
